Cabbage is a  very beneficial vegetable used for many things both medicinal and for food.
abbage is a vegetable with low calorie and high nutrition, and has a high amount of vitamin C, potassium and vitamin K. It also has cancer-fighting and also anti-inflammatory properties.
It is been used for skin troubles like bruises and swollen skin for centuries.
It has high amount of vitamins, phytonutrients, anthocyanins, and glutamine that give anti-inflammatory properties and by that makes it very beneficial in the case of joint pain and cancer prevention. The addition of cabbage leaves to the treatment of arthritic patients provides great relief.
They use it in the form of a compress, and this is how to prepare it:
Cabbage Compress
You will need:
  • Organic cabbage (preferably red)
  • Aluminium foil
  • Rolling pin/wine bottle/meat hammer
  • Gauze or Bandage
  • Oven
Instructions:
Peel away an outer cabbage leaf away and wash it well. Dry it and cut out the hard stem. Place it on a counter, and use a rolling pin to bruise the leaf to release its juice.
Wrap the cabbage in foil and place in the oven for several minutes to warm. Next, place the cabbage onto the painful area, cover with gauze or bandage and elevate the area.
Leave the cabbage compress to act for an hour, three times daily, each time with a new leaf. The improvements are felt the next day! If you want to apply a cold compress, refrigerate the cabbage before you begin the procedure.
Red cabbage is rich in anthocyanins (which are chemicals that alleviate joint pain and inflammation. Both, green and red cabbage types are extremely beneficial in the case of ulcers.
